Corgan is actively recruiting a dynamic Senior Systems Administrator to join the firm as part of our Shared Services Information Technology team. This is an in-office position where you will work alongside a team of creative, highly motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and ready to collaborate to achieve outstanding results. Responsibilities

  • Participate in an on-call rotation, after-hours maintenance, and incident response to ensure continuous network and systems availability.
  • Lead Projects and Strategic Communication: Independently manage and execute infrastructure projects from conception to completion, including planning, resource allocation, risk assessment, and successful delivery.
  • Lead VMware Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain the organization's on-prem VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, vSAN, and associated virtualization components, optimizing for performance, high availability, and scalability.
  • Manage Windows Server Infrastructure: Administer and maintain a robust Windows Server environment, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other critical Windows services, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance. Support for a small footprint of Linux servers (less than 5%) will also be required.
  • Oversee Storage Infrastructure: Manage and optimize storage solutions (SAN, Physical Attached and Object Storage) that support virtualized environments and critical applications, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Drive Innovation & Efficiency: Champion innovation by staying current with technological advancements in Windows Server administration, virtualization, and cloud computing, translating them into tangible process improvements that maximize efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain detailed systems and infrastructure documentation, including architecture diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
  • Monitor network security logs and events, analyze security incidents, and execute appropriate response protocols.
  • Assist with incident, change, and capacity management processes related to network and systems infrastructure.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of operating systems and application software for networking and systems infrastructure, including installation, maintenance, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting, to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verify system integrity and availability, review system and application logs, and ensure completion of scheduled jobs, including backups.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point, providing expert-level support for complex systems and networking issues.
  • Networking: While this role is primarily systems-focused, a strong understanding of networking concepts and hands-on experience with technologies like Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto firewalls is considered a significant plus.
  • Occasional Travel to other company offices will be required for specific projects or operational needs.

Qualifications

  • This role is an in-office position.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent training or work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in systems and infrastructure administration, with a strong focus on VMware virtualization and Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Expert-level proficiency in VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, and related virtualization technologies.
  • Extensive experience administering Microsoft Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022) including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services.
  • Solid understanding and experience with storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage) in virtualized environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms for hybrid environment management.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Administration, Entra (Azure AD), SCCM, and basic SQL administration is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with web server administration (IIS, Apache, Tomcat) is a plus.
  • Proven experience supporting hybrid cloud environments and contributing to cloud migration initiatives.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell are essential; Python or other relevant languages are beneficial.
  • Deep understanding of system and infrastructure security principles and practices, including patching, vulnerability management, and access controls.
  • Strong problem-solving and advanced troubleshooting skills for complex systems, virtualization, and infrastructure issues.
  • Certifications (Valued): Relevant industry certifications such as VMware VCP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar cloud/system administration certifications are highly valued.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of business and technical personnel.
