At Corgan we are passionate about great design but the best thing we build is each other. Here, you’ll find camaraderie and collaboration as abundantly as curiosity and creativity. Corgan is a welcoming and supportive environment that provides significant career advantages. You’ll find room to grow, freedom to explore — and the safety to fail. Thank you for your interest in joining our curious, passionate, hardworking team.

We are actively recruiting a Shop FabricatorIII to join our growing Shop team in our Los Angeles and New York office locations. The Shop is Corgan’s in-house fabrication team, which leverages skills in both innovative technologies and traditional craftsmanship to produce physical explorations that enhance our design process. As a Shop Fabricator, you will work under the direction of the Shop Leadership to create scale architectural models, mock-ups, prototypes, and physical explorations that add value to our projects and clients.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the primary Shop representative in the Los Angeles or New York office, building relationships with design teams, communicating Shop capabilities, and helping integrate physical modeling into the design process.
  • Collaborate with internal designers and subject matter experts to produce high-quality models, mock-ups, and prototypes that support project storytelling and decision-making.
  • Independently manage the day-to-day operation of the LA or NY fabrication workspace, including workflow coordination, equipment operation, organization, and material readiness.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Shop Leadership team in Dallas, receiving project assignments, sharing progress updates, and participating in planning and coordination sessions.
  • Support modeling and fabrication efforts for teams across all Corgan offices, contributing to a national network of makers and designers.
  • Mentor colleagues and design teams, offering guidance in making, fabrication techniques, and safe shop practices.
  • Assist in maintaining fabrication equipment, ensuring proper operation, routine checks, and adherence to safety protocols and cleanliness standards.
  • Explore new technologies, materials, and methodologies; test ideas through prototyping; and provide thoughtful insights to expand The Shop’s capabilities.
  • Conduct investigations and physical studies that inform design decisions, support innovation, and contribute to our culture of experimentation.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

  • Degree in Architecture, Product Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • Professional experience working with fabrication tools, materials, and shop equipment.
  • Strong understanding of digital fabrication technologies (laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC workflows) and associated processes.
  • Ability to choose appropriate fabrication methodologies based on design intent, material behavior, and project constraints.
  • Ability to recommend creative fabrication approaches that uncover opportunities, clarify design intent, and support project storytelling.
  • Strong communication skills; receptive to feedback and constructive when providing it to others.
  • Comfortable working with significant autonomy, navigating ambiguous environments, and collaborating across disciplines.
  • Passionate about making, craft, and creating high-quality physical experiences; possesses a curiosity-first mindset.
  • Experience in the Architecture or Interior Design industry is a plus.
