Corgan is seeking a seasoned Senior Media Relations Specialist with approximately 10 years of experience to amplify our voice, elevate our thought leadership, and position the firm as a global leader in architecture and design. This role will shape Corgan’s public narrative—highlighting our research-driven practice, market expertise, award-winning work, and the people who make it possible. The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller who can secure meaningful coverage across top-tier architecture and design publications, industry trade media, and national media.

**This role is an in-office position located in our New York - Midtown office.  This is not a hybrid role, nor is it remote.**

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute media relations strategies that advance Corgan’s brand, business priorities, and national visibility across all market sectors.
  • Build, manage, and deepen relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and influencers across business, design, architecture, and industry-specific outlets.
  • Proactively pitch and place stories that elevate Corgan’s work, insights, research, and leadership—including major projects, thought leadership, and innovative design solutions.
  • Partner closely with Corgan’s market and sector practice leaders to identify media opportunities and prepare them for interviews, speaking engagements, and press moments.
  • Draft, refine, and distribute press materials such as press releases, media advisories, pitches, Q&As, talking points, and executive bios.
  • Support reputation management, providing strategic counsel and rapid-response communications when needed.
  • Collaborate with the firmwide Communications, Marketing, and Brand teams to ensure integrated and consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Support media strategy for project milestones, openings, firm awards, research publications, and thought leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 10 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or strategic communications is preferred — specifically within architecture, design, commercial real estate, aviation, development, or other professional services industries.
  • Strong network of journalist relationships and a proven track record of securing high-value placements in national, design, architecture, and business media.
  • Deep understanding of the design and built-environment media landscape, including trends and emerging storytelling opportunities.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex design and research concepts into accessible, compelling narratives.
  • Experienced in preparing senior leaders for interviews, panels, and public appearances.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across teams and time zones, with strong organizational and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with sound judgment and a collaborative working style.

This position is designated as full-time on-site and requires the employee to be physically present at the assigned office location Monday through Friday during standard business hours. Regular, reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of this role.
